Pastor Jamie and Amber Lundquist
Pastor Jamie grew up in Illinois. He trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 7. After some spiritual struggles following high school, he surrendered to the Lord and began his college education at Pensacola Christian College where he would later meet his wife, Amber. He began as an accounting major until the Lord called him into full-time ministry. He had the life-changing opportunity to serve as a counselor at the The Wilds one summer. Soon after, he followed the Lord's leading to Bob Jones University where he graduated with a degree in Youth Ministries. While at BJU, he married the love of his life, Amber, in June of 2001!
Amber grew up in a pastor's home and trusted Christ at age 5. Her father served as a Pastor and an Assistant Pastor in Indiana until she was age 11. Her family relocated to Lansing, Michigan where her father has been serving as Senior Pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church since 1988. Amber grew up serving in ministry her whole life, and a passion for playing piano began at a young age. Upon graduation from home education, Amber attended PCC with a Major in Sacred Music with a piano proficiency. She traveled as a pianist for two summers for PCC before graduating with a degree in Sacred Music. She would later serve on full-time staff for The Wilds corporate office as Choral Club secretary before marrying Pastor Jamie in 2001. She also served as secretary for the Dean of Fine Arts at BJU until Pastor Jamie finished with his degree.
In 2004, Pastor Jamie and Amber moved to Camp CoBeAc in Prudenville, Michigan where they served on full-time staff for two years. In 2006, they moved to Riverview, Florida where Pastor Jamie served at Providence Baptist Church as Youth Pastor. In 2012, the Lord led them to Mio Baptist Church in Mio, Michigan where Pastor Jamie served as Assistant Pastor. All along the way, Amber supported her husband's ministry, playing piano for special music, choirs, and congregational worship, while homeschooling their three children: Strad, Josiah, and Addie. On November 7, 2021, Pastor Jamie was installed as the Pastor of Wapiti Valley Church. They are so thankful for God's calling upon their lives. They love people and are excited to see how God will draw others to trusting Christ through the efforts and prayers of God's people at WVC!
Pastor Jamie and Amber enjoy hiking, kayaking, bicycling, and just being in the great outdoors. They love spending time with their family, and are big fans of the Michigan State Spartans! Well, as long as they are not playing the Michigan Wolverines...then things get a little contentious in the home! :)
